Crunchi’s amazing skincare line has made a huge improvement to my skin like nothing I’ve used before. And now they have added a brand new, long awaited addition to their amazing skincare line. A beautiful facial serum called Goldenlight. This is a powerhouse of ingredients and is packed with over a dozen peptides that they say provides a more glowing complexion, reduces the appearance of fine line and wrinkles, reduces the appearance of pores, and have a smoother looking complexion. Many customers have had great success with this new serum, but sadly, that was not the case for myself. I’ll be sharing my story below.
My Experience with Goldenlight
One caution I have is my personal encounter with this serum and my not-so-great reaction. I will probably repeat this, but just because I have a reaction to a product does not automatically mean someone else will. Many women seem to be having great success with this serum, and with all the claimed benefits, I wish I could use it too.
In full transparency, I did have some challenges with this product a few months ago, and then recently tried it again with a worse reaction. This is my story.
I initially tried Goldenlight for about 4 weeks with great success, my skin was glowing and much smoother, my pores were reducing in size which was amazing. Then I started to have itching around my eyebrows and my jawline and forehead hair line. I couldn’t figure out what was going on but it got worse. Now for reference, at the time I was using all the Crunchi skincare line, but had added in my favorite facial oil by Le Prunier as it was winter and my skin was drier. Since Goldenlight was the newest addition to anything I was using, I stopped using it and after about two days the itching began to subside. I thought the reaction might be related to my diet so I tried again a couple weeks after, only with the same reaction. So I quit using it completely.
Fast forward about 4 months and I decided to try it again, just in case it was the oil, or the different eating plan I had been on. This time I did not use the facial oil and my diet was more ‘normal’. The itching started, in exactly the same areas, after just one week of use, and this time I only used it once a day. I stopped immediately, but the next morning I woke up and my entire eye area and face was puffed up like I had a huge allergic reaction to a bee sting. It took four days for it to fully subside and the itching to go away. I never put the serum around or on my eyes, it must have just ‘traveled’ in the absorption to my eye area. It has been such an uncanny experience as I’ve never had a reaction to any skincare product before, and from researching the ingredients I cannot figure out which ingredient I could be reacting with, or maybe it’s a combination of ingredients. But all I know is I cannot use this product at all.
There are stories I’ve heard of women experiencing allergic reactions to skincare, and now I know what that is like. As I stated before, just because I have had a reaction to a product, or it didn’t work for me, does not mean that someone else will have the same. But I wanted to share incase there are others, so they do not feel alone or crazy that something like this could happen. In the world of organic beauty, the products are being produced more ‘cleanly’, but that does not always mean you may not react to an ingredient. Much like my children are allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, thought these are ‘natural’ sources of food, anyone could be allergic, or react, to a ‘natural’ ingredient.
But since so many women are having great success with Goldenlight, I wanted to share the claims and benefits with you, along with my story, so you can make an informed decision as to whether you want try it or not.

But it can also be mixed into your existing skincare. They do caution adding this serum if you already use a retinol product, it might not play well with retinol. As always, check the ingredients to make sure they work for your skin.
